A Touch of Heritage is a local women’s cooperative which features over 60 women in villages around Ramallah and in Gaza, all of whom are experts in the art of tatreez. We teamed up to create an effortless midi slip dress.
Each belt is hand-embroidered and takes about 10 hours to complete. With the slip dress made in Gaza and the belt embroidered in a women’s cooperative in Ramallah, the final garment represents a manifestation of collective creative energy. The combination of patterns, colors, and stitching techniques tells a story unique to specific groups of people in various parts of Palestine and across Palestinian history.
The belt of the dress is detachable, meaning you can wear it with this dress or with other garments in your closet, offering room to get creative.
As the belt is hand-embroidered, we recommend gently hand-washing it as needed. Please note that the nature of production means that no two belts will look exactly the same, resulting in a truly unique piece.
We hope you cherish and love your dress just as much as we enjoyed creating it.
