This rug is hand-woven in a women’s cooperative in the southern hills of al Khalil.

Master weavers, the women learned to shear, spin, dye, and weave wool from their mothers and spend their time passing on the knowledge to the new generation of women in the village. They weave in their own homes and on their own schedules. 

Bedouin weaving is a centuries-old art form handmade by women and traditionally passed down from mother to daughter.
